Thanksgiving
Psalm 100:4-5
“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations.”
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope this day brings you close to family and friends where you can remember to slow down and remember all that you have to be thankful for this holiday season. Something I have been thinking a lot about is during the days leading up to thanksgiving everyone will start to realize how grateful they are for everyone. Yet, we all seem to lose sight of what we have to be thankful for throughout the year. Why is that I wonder? God says multiple times that we need to be thankful. Have a thankful heart! It can even be as small as a roof over our heads, food in our houses, and a warm bed to sleep in. Just think, some things we do have others don’t such as, do you own a bible? If you do you should thank God for providing one for you cause not everyone is able to afford one which honestly saddens my heart to know.
We are to be thankful for what we have and who we have in our lives! I am personally so grateful for a house, a warm bed, my wonderful family, and amazing friends!
Don’t leave your thankful heart on Thanksgiving day, bring it with you throughout the year! I encourage you as you spend some time with God today. Take some time along with what you are reading to list all the things you have to be thankful for and thank God for every single one. Keep that list with you so that when you lose sight of the good things in life you can grab it and recite all the things you have to be thankful for! Sometimes we focus on what we want instead of all that we have.
I encourage you to remind your family and friends through a quick message or letter how thankful you are for them!
I pray you all have a happy Thanksgiving! I am so thankful for you all!
